A duty-free store is a shop that sells only to passengers.
iVendNext runs the shop: the counters, the stockroom, prices, promotions and loyalty. Small apps from our library add what an airport store asks for: the boarding pass on every sale, each passenger's allowance, the age check. You keep the ERP you already own, and you take only the parts your stores need.
We run the shop. Small apps carry the passenger.
Most of a duty-free store is a busy shop: fragrance, beauty, liquor, tobacco and confectionery, many counters and a queue that rises before every departure. iVendNext runs all of it on one till and one back office. What an airport adds is the passenger. The cashier scans the boarding pass into the sale, and when the cashier presses Pay, a small app checks the flight, the day and the passenger's allowance, counting what was already bought on the same pass.
Your ERP keeps the books, beside us. Around it all is the work that makes it yours: setting it up, hosting it, and building what your stores need on top of our apps. An iVendNext partner can do that for you, or your own team can. What we are still building is named as being built; everything else is in use today.
Your ERP stays where it is. The POS app sits on the shop, and its sale details, checks and receipt layouts are where the duty-free apps plug in. Inside the dashed line is what your iVendNext partner, or your own team, sets up and extends.
Four airport stores, four starting points
No store needs every part. Start from the one closest to yours, then add or drop apps against your own list of requirements.

From the first conversation to a live store
An iVendNext partner in your region usually runs these steps with you; a team with its own developers can run them itself. iVendNext gives the product, the apps and the guides at every step.
- Fit check. Put your own list of requirements against the menu in section 2. What the apps meet unchanged is ready; the rest is set-up or an extension.
- Set up the shop. Stores, tills, prices and users, as for any retailer. Link your ERP: iVendNext connects to SAP Business One, SAP S/4HANA, Acumatica, NetSuite and Sage X3, and your partner connects any other ERP with the partner kit.
- Make it duty free. Your airports, whether you sell to departing or arriving passengers, and the airport's hours from UTC; an allowance and its measure on each limited item group; an age on each restricted group.
- Hardware. Scanners that read boarding passes and barcodes at each counter; cash drawers, receipt printers and customer displays through the counter hardware app. Try your own hardware with your partner before you go live.
- Install the apps from the App library: the duty-free allowance, the age check, the members-only check and your market's receipt. Switch the allowance check on for your airport stores' tills only.
- Load the data. Items with their units, barcodes and measures, such as 0.75 for a 75 cl bottle; item groups with their allowances and ages; your members-only rules.
- Train and go live, store by store: cashiers, supervisors, the stockroom, store managers.
- Day to day. Your partner supports what it delivers. We support the product.
Make it yours
Our apps are the version most duty-free stores need. When yours works differently, your iVendNext partner, or your own developers, can copy any of our free apps, change it and build what your stores need on top. What is built for you is yours.
Passenger categories
Transit passengers, aircraft crew and airport staff told apart at the till, each with its own rules.
A version for your concession
Your own allowance rules, built from our allowance app.
Reports by flight
Sales by flight, route or airline, in the shape your airport and your buyers ask for.
Border and ferry stores
A check for the travel document your store sells against, built the same way as the boarding pass check.
Links to your other systems
The airport's concession reporting, an airline's loyalty programme, your suppliers.
Hosting and support
Your services run and supported near you.
Why duty-free retailers choose iVendNext
Each reason carries its evidence.
The allowance checked where the money is taken
The check runs when the cashier presses Pay, on the whole sale, with everything the passenger already bought on the same boarding pass. A sale over the allowance is stopped with the words the cashier needs: what to take off.
The duty-free allowance and boarding pass app.
Every sale tied to its boarding pass
The pass is kept on the sale and on any return made from it, beside the age check the cashier recorded.
The till's sale details.
One till for every counter
The same till runs the main counter, a tablet at a promotion stand and a phone on the shop floor, in airport and city stores alike. Staff train once.
iVendNext POS, one app for phone, tablet and counter.
Keep your ERP
iVendNext is the retail layer beside your ERP. It connects to SAP Business One, SAP S/4HANA, Acumatica, NetSuite and Sage X3, and your partner connects any other ERP, a regional one included, with the iVendNext partner kit.
Our ERP connectors and the partner kit.
Free apps, open to build on
The duty-free apps are free to install, and there is no separate price for travel retail. Their code is open: your partner, or your own developers, can copy and extend them for the way your stores work.
Our App library and kit terms.
Selling goes on when the line drops
Supported sales carry on when the connection is lost and synchronise when it returns. A sale whose allowance check cannot answer goes through and is flagged for review.
The till's offline selling; the allowance app.
Being built
In the order we are building them.

The regulated stock register
The books your law asks you to keep of regulated stock, such as liquor and tobacco, written by the till and the back office as you sell and receive: one line with each sale or receipt, numbered without a gap, with a running balance, never edited. Each market's books are set up as data, so a new market needs no new software.
The library keeps growing, and anything else your partner or your own team can build with the iVendNext partner kit.
