An optical store sells a product made for one pair of eyes.
iVendNext runs the shop: the till, frames and stock, prices, loyalty and returns. One app from our library adds the eye prescription and the lab order, and holds the lens rule at the till. You keep the ERP you already own, and your partner, or your own team, sets it up.
We run the shop. One app carries the eye test.
Most of an optical store is a shop: frames by model, colour and size, contact lenses and solutions, prices, promotions, loyalty and returns. iVendNext runs all of it on one till and one back office. What optical adds is a record no other shop keeps: the customer's eye prescription, and the lab job that turns it into a pair of glasses. One app from our library keeps both in your back office and holds one rule at the till: lenses are sold only against a prescription in date.
Your ERP keeps the books, beside us. Around it all is the work that makes it yours: setting it up, hosting it, linking your labs, and building what your chain needs on top of our apps. An iVendNext partner can do that for you, or your own team can. What we are still building is named as being built; everything else is in use today.
Your ERP stays where it is, and your labs get the job sheet they need. The POS app sits on the shop, and its checks and records are where the optical app plugs in. Inside the dashed line is what your iVendNext partner, or your own team, sets up and extends.
Four optical retailers, four starting points
No store needs every part. Start from the one closest to yours, then add or drop parts against your own list of requirements.

From the first conversation to a live store
An iVendNext partner in your region usually runs these steps with you; a team with its own developers can run them itself. iVendNext gives the product, the apps and the guides at every step.
- Fit check. Put your own list of requirements against the menu in section 2. What the app meets unchanged is ready; the rest is set-up or an extension.
- Set up the shop. Stores, tills, prices and users, as for any retailer. Link your ERP: iVendNext connects to SAP Business One, SAP S/4HANA, Acumatica, NetSuite and Sage X3, and your partner connects any other ERP with the partner kit.
- Make it optical. Frames with their colours and sizes; item groups for frames, spectacle lenses, contact lenses and solutions; your labs as suppliers; the people who write prescriptions and the people who read them.
- Hardware. Scanners at each counter; cash drawers, receipt printers and customer displays through the counter hardware app; a printer for the job sheets. Try your own hardware with your partner before you go live.
- Install the app from the App library: optical prescriptions and lab orders. Mark your lens groups, and switch the lens rule on for your optical tills.
- Load the data. Items with their barcodes, customers and their current prescriptions, and the lab jobs still open.
- Train and go live, store by store: optometrists, dispensing staff, cashiers, store managers.
- Day to day. Your partner supports what it delivers. We support the product.
Make it yours
Our app is the version most optical stores need. When yours works differently, your iVendNext partner, or your own developers, can copy it, change it and build what your chain needs on top. What is built for you is yours.
Your lab's own system
Each lab order sent to the lab's ordering system, and its status read back.
Your country's prescription
Extra fields your market asks for, such as a registration body, a near-vision line or a child's myopia care.
Your own lens rule
A warning instead of a refusal for spectacles, or a contact lens fitting newer than a year.
Repeat contact lens orders
A customer's lenses reordered on their own schedule.
Hosting near you
The app's service run on your partner's own server, in your region.
Why optical retailers choose iVendNext
Each reason carries its evidence.
From the eye test to collection, on one record
The prescription, the lab order made from it and the sale it belongs to sit on the customer's record, read the same way in every store.
The optical prescriptions and lab orders app.
The lens rule held at the till
A lens line is paid only against a prescription of its kind in date, and the cashier reads which line and why when it is not. Frames, sunglasses and solutions sell as always.
The app's check at Pay, on the tills you choose.
The prescription stays yours
Prescriptions live in your own iVendNext. At each Pay, the sale's priced basket goes to the check, which asks only which kind of prescription the customer has and until when, never a lens value, and writes nothing.
The app's card in the App library, which names the service and what it reads.
One till for every counter
The same till runs an optician's counter, an optical counter inside a pharmacy or a department store, a tablet in the fitting area and a phone. Staff train once.

Keep your ERP
iVendNext is the retail layer beside your ERP. It connects to SAP Business One, SAP S/4HANA, Acumatica, NetSuite and Sage X3, and your partner connects any other ERP, a regional one included, with the iVendNext partner kit.
Our ERP connectors and the partner kit.
A free app, open to build on
The optical app is free to install, and there is no separate price for optical. Its code is open: your partner, or your own developers, can copy and extend it for the way your chain works.
Our App library and kit terms.
Being built
In the order we are building them.
- 1
The payer at the tender
The cashier picks the customer's plan; the customer pays their share; the plan's share is booked as owed by the plan; the receipt shows the split and the claim reference; a return gives the plan's share back.
- 2
The third-party payer app in the App library
Payers, plans and members as your records, the plan's rules as data, claims built from the sales and matched to the plan's payment. One app for vision plans, insurers and company staff accounts.
The library keeps growing, and anything else your partner or your own team can build with the iVendNext partner kit.
